MERRY MONDAY BY PARRIS BAILEY

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.” Luke 2:8

Christmas to me will always be special. Thats when I began my journey to Christ. Even as a child I was mystified with “the babe lying in a manger”. I am so thankful Christ found me and brought me to Him at a young age of 16. Never in a million years have I been so complete, life takes on purpose and a new sense of joy. I hope you will enjoy my poem.

“Shepherds Surprise-No Ordinary Night “by Parris Bailey
Ordinary nights and ordinary sheep

Days like the seasons flow one on top of another

Nothing unusual there

Rustic surroundings, the smell of grass, sheep well taken care of, contentment comes all too sweetly

The mastery of shepherding took generations to learn

It was just another ordinary night

Time got caught up into eternity, even the sheep were picked just for this moment

The glow of the fire danced upon the shepherd faces-playing with their thoughts. Each face told a story of years gone by and dreams lost in time, revealing glimpses of a all too familiar life.
Shepherd’s talk echoed through the woods, into the surroundings-young gathered to hear the old, favorite stories told and retold.

Suddenly Angels shattered their thoughts invading their chatter.

The Divine Presence glowed through the darkness revealing their inward thoughts. Fear was dismantled.

Hope arrived, filling the fields with its music of joy, fertilizing the earth!

No ordinary night- ordinary just became extra ordinary.

Love broke through dispelling the darkness,

“Shechinah” glory changing everything that was and will be, things would never be the same.

The Divine Presence enwrapped them and took them to the manger.
