My name is Laila, I have been at Mary’s Song for 7 months now. Looking back from where I started the growth in my life is phenomenal. It’s all because of Jesus! I am growing into a confident and courageous young woman. I am learning how to trust again, how to be a friend again. Before coming to Mary’s Song I was in complete bondage. I had lost all hope in myself. I was fearful, hurt, addicted to drugs, untrustworthy, unpredictable, and unreliable. I lost jobs, family, friends and was incarcerated several times. I have come so far since then with a lot of hard work and perseverance. I couldn’t do it without first finding God, He has lifted me so high! My mind is blown! I have great friends, people that trust me again. I am now reliable! The family that gave up on me is seeing Christ in me. I believe in myself again and I am confident that I never have to live like that again. I want to be a light for young broken people and the mother my kids deserve. I am starting this New Year out with a bang! My word for 2019 is “DREAM BIG”! If there is anything you have given up on go after it full force this year. If it’s hard, go after with your whole heart. Go after something that will need God’s divine intervention and believe in yourself. Pursue your dreams and make them a reality. I AM!
