Hi my name is Ashley Landry! I came into Mary’s Song June of 2017. If someone would have told me where my life could be today if I would just give God a chance I would have told them they were crazy. I thought that I was too far gone and too hardened by the pain I endured throughout my life. I came into Mary’s Song broken, homeless, and with a few beat up suitcases filled with clothes that wreaked of cigarette smoke. Immediately I was overwhelmed with a love I had never experienced before from the women at Mary’s Song. I was there for two weeks when I left Mary’s Song in an attempt to run away from everything, like I had always done. I left with a mission to get my daughters back, my way. When it didn’t work out the way I thought I intentionally overdosed on my friends bathroom floor. Just as the paramedics were about to give up, I started breathing. As I was coming back, I heard a voice saying my name but no one I recognized.
I finally came back to Mary’s Song and during a service I asked the Lord why He saved me and I heard the words, “I love you Ashley”. It was the same voice I heard that night as I was coming to on that bathroom floor. I still hold onto that voice to this day. I knew at that moment that the Lord had a good plan for my life, that He was with me and my life would never be the same. I graduated Mary’s Song August of last year. I can honestly say that I’m living a fairly tale life now! I have fallen in love with Jesus and it’s the best life ever! During Mary Song I got my GED and now I’m in school to get my lisense to do hair. I was offered a job at Salon M as an assistant hairstylist. I moved to the Bethesda community where I pay all of my bills, that is something I have never been able to do. I was even blessed with a car!
Over the Christmas holidays I had my immediate family over at my apartment for a Christmas meal and fellowship. My brother and I were not on speaking terms and now we are closer then ever. All of my relationships in my family have been restored! I still don’t have contact with my daughters but I know that the Lord is doing a supernatural work in that place. In the waiting He is equipping me with everything I need to be the mother that they deserve! The Lord reminds me daily that He will fight for me and I need to only be still. He has changed all of my desires and today I desire to only be like Him. I use all of the tools I learned in Mary’s Song on a day to day basis. This is my way of life and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I work on the weekends with the girls at Mary’s Song! God has given me such a heart for those girls and the ministry at Victory Fellowship. He’s completely transformed me from the inside out. I have found a family at Victory and for that I am overwhelmed with gratitude. God has given me so much but the greatest gift He has given me is Himself. I have a peace today that passes all understanding!
My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me—holy is his name. His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation. Luke 1:46-50
