Voices of Christmas Day by Pastor Parris Bailey

Why do the calves bellow

And the donkeys bray?

The sheep make all a clatter

As if they had something to say.

Even the magi have gone on a journey

And the king’s heart is amiss.

The stars burn of bright and twinkle

Light up the eastern sky with their kiss.

Priestly shepherds tell their story

Of angels erupting the silent night;

With their song of eternal glory

Earth stops and peers into a dirty stable.

Bewildred father, virgin mother shed a tear.

All embrace a King that night when

A baby’s breath comes near.

Please my dearest Holy child

Now my Savior come;

Abide in my little cradle

where my heart will gather thee home.
