Merry Saturday by Parris!

“We are writing these things to you because we want to release to you our fullness of joy!” 1 John 1:4

The Apostle John knew what it was like to taste the joy of the risen Christ. “We have heard it and seen it with our own eyes, yes we have seen it, and our hands have handled”. I John 1:1 (Good News)

John also knew how important it was to share or be a part of the body of Christ for he said, “We share in fellowship with him” or koinōnia, which means “having things in common,” or even better “sharing in what he has and who he is”. I love that-we can share in what he has and who he is. It is indeed an ever flowing fountain. Spring up oh well! Spring up and overflow! This is a season of fresh joy! We must press in to receive this joy of the Lord! The thing is we really do have a wonderful Savior that works with the Holy Spirit to give us fullness of joy! Our God knows the things that we have need of and knows the suffering of humanity! There is an antidote! We have all heard of the word Greek word paráklētos. Brian Simmons in the Passion Translation says, “the translator has chosen the word Savior, for it depicts the role of the Holy Spirit to protect, defend, and save us from our self and our enemies and keep us whole and healed. He is the One who guides and defends, comforts and consoles. Keep in mind that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ, our Savior. The Aramaic word is paraqleta, which is taken from two root words: (1) praq, “to end, finish, or to save,” and (2) lyta, which means “the curse.” What a beautiful word picture, the Holy Spirit comes to end the work of the curse (of sin) in our lives and to save us from its every effect! Paraqleta means “a redeemer who ends the curse.”What is the curse you may ask? Well it is a sign of God’s displeasure. The curse of God is to lose God’s favor, peace of mind, to lose hope, to lose the blessings of God and ultimately to lose life itself! But the good news is what John is saying! We can have life, peace, joy, and happiness in this life and the world to come as we walk in his newness of life! Drink from the source of all life, “out of our bellies will flow rivers of living water!”

Maybe something has got you all stopped up. Allow the Holy Spirit to come again to you! Allow breakthrough to come supernaturally into your spirit! Cry out to him now!
