Pastor Rachel Young

Director

Rachel came to Mary’s Song in 2011 after a twenty-five-year battle with mental illness and drug addiction that led to a suicide attempt that nearly took her life. She knew she needed help but she had no idea what God was about to do. To her surprise, she encountered the love of Jesus and the chains of mental illness and addiction were totally broken off of her life. For the first time, she began to experience true peace and overwhelming joy and she just wanted more! After completing the program, she was asked to join the staff and in 2019 she became the Director. In 2018, she received her Associate’s Degree in Biblical Studies and became a licensed minister. She has also had the pleasure of becoming a chaplain at Jefferson Parish Correctional Center, a certified belief therapist through Therapon, and she is currently enrolled at Bethesda Bible College pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies. On the eight-year anniversary of her life-transforming encounter with the love of Jesus, she had the honor of marrying an amazing man who loves the Lord with all of his heart. It has been over 12 years now and she has fallen in love with Christ more and more every day! In Him, she has been healed, restored, and given a brand-new life! Today it is her great joy to be able to share the love of Jesus with other women just like herself and encourage them to partake of the newness of life offered to them in Christ.
