PAINTING GOD UPON THE SOUL

“Painting God upon the Soul”-THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

MERRY MONDAY BY PARRIS BAILEY-

“But ye have an unction from the Holy Ghost, and ye know all things.” 1 John 2:20

Twenty years ago my life took a 180 degree change. I fell in love with the Holy Spirit and His work upon my life. O I was brought back to my first love. Jesus found the perfect eye-salve of the Spirit to anoint my eyes so that I could see once again. It appeared I lost my way in religious works, offenses, hurts and playing the hypocrite. Ever since then I love to find books that talk of Christ and His beauty, the work of redemption and how the Holy Spirit works in our lives. Seeing we bought a library filled with ancient authors I love to spend my days reading about His glory. I can understand John when he said the “whole world couldn’t contain his works if they were written in books”. He helps me keep His anchor when the river rages all around me. One thing about life is that it is NOT CONSISTENT AND IS FULL OF CHANGES. I pray that Christ can truly come sure and steadfast in your heart of hearts.
Spurgeon says this about the presence of Christ- “I would rather have one mouthful of Christ’s love, and a sip of his fellowship, than a whole world full of carnal delights. What is the chaff to the wheat? What is the sparkling paste to the true diamond? What is a dream to the glorious reality? What is time’s mirth in its best trim compared to our Lord Jesus in his most despised estate? If you know anything of the inner life, you will all of you confess that our highest, purest, and most enduring joys must be the fruit of the tree of life which is in the midst of the Paradise of God. No spring yields such sweet water as that well of God which was digged with the soldier’s spear. As for the house of feasting, the joy of harvest, the mirth of marriage, the sports of youth, the recreations of maturer age, they are all as the small dust of the balance compared with the joy of Immanuel our best beloved.”
These are some of the things the Holy Spirit gives us: We can have the POWER OF DISCERNMENT—-WE SHALL KNOW ALL THINGS. For he gives us CLEARNESS OF VISION. He HEALS OUR PERCEPTIONS so much that we can have full apprehension of God’s truth in our lives. He SOFTENS our hard hearts with WARMTH AND SWEETNESS OF AFFECTIONS. It is said, the “DAYS WILL BE BRIGHTER, THE REST OF SLEEP SWEETER, THE FLOWERS WILL BLOOM WITH MORE BEAUTY and EVERY JOYOUS THINGS WILL BE MORE JOYOUS.He makes our PRAYER LIFE turn into fervency. THERE IS A IRRESISTIBLE ATTRACTION that develops in the character which causes us to have great BOLDNESS TO FAITH, GREAT ARDOR OF HOPE.
He comes as only He can come and PAINTS GOD UPON THE SOUL. (Snippets from C Vaughan)
