Tanya came to Mary’s Song for the first time in 2013. She was broken, grief-stricken, addicted, and traumatized. She was raised by a parent with severe mental illness so she suffered extensive childhood abuse and later in life she experienced the loss of her own child. The Lord had a deep work to do in her and that He did! In a span of seven years, from 2013 to 2020, she came to the program on three separate occasions for a total of two years and four months. On her third and final stay at Mary’s Song she entered the program feeling like a hopeless failure. Somehow, she must have missed something that everyone else had gotten. But this time she was finally done trying to do things her way and was desperate for a touch from God! The Lord met her in a powerful way during worship and from that moment she was never the same. For the first time in her life, she was finally able to receive His love and she quickly realized that she was not a failure but a child of God! Since graduating she was hired on as staff. Now she has the pleasure of witnessing Christ’s redemptive love transform other women just like herself every day! While in the program she received her GED, and is now a certified belief therapist through Therapon in pursuit of her licensing. She is also enrolled in Bethesda Bible College pursuing her associates degree in Biblical Studies.
