THE ELEVENTH HOUR! “For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard. He agreed to pay them a denarius for the day and sent them into his vineyard.About nine in the morning he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing. He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ So they went. He went out again about noon and about three in the afternoon and did the same thing. About five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?’“‘Because no one has hired us,’ they answered. “He said to them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard.’ Matt.20:1
Clark says; “The Church is a vineyard, because it is a place of labor, where no man should be idle. Each of us is engaged to labor in this vineyard – to work out our salvation through him who worketh in us to will and to perform.”I have to tell you sometimes destiny slaps you in the face and makes you come face to face with the voice of the Lord. As many of you know I/we have become vocal on the plight of the unborn. Of course my beliefs have always been toward the unborn, my vote no matter who the candidate was first and foremost was for the unborn. It was as if the Lord said, “why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?” In the twirl and swirl of life, in this plague, hurricane, firestorms, rioting sort of life- God comes in the still small voice. He comes in the unborn voice and says “why are you standing here doing nothing? Go and work in the vineyard.” I believe the eleventh hour is upon us all. This week took us by surprise when Amy Coney Barrett from Metairie was nominated by the President to fill the spot on the Supreme Court Justice that Ruth Ginsberg held. In the eleventh hour there is a huge possibility that Roe vs Wade could be overturned. Justice Ginsberg (Jewish) failed to rise to the occasion “for such as time as this” to save the 65 million aborted babies. This week I was reminded of a prophecy by Cindy Jacobs given over the city at the riverfront in June 1998. “The Lord says, I am going to put (establish) the anointing of the Lawgiver, and it’s going to come through Louisiana as a state. There’s going to be statewide measures, the Lord says, that are going to cast down abortion. I’m going to do a great work in that state, says the Lord. I’m going to do a work that will be landmark, precedent-setting.”To be honest my experience as a 14 yr old getting pregnant has brought up many unpleasant painful memories these past few weeks. Though painful, I learned the valuable lesson of consequence and it brought me to my knees. I’m thankful abortion at 24 weeks wasn’t a option for me. After her birth she was placed in a closed adoption. Two years later I would receive the Lord and since then have lived thousands of moments of grace. As Clark said the Church is a vineyard where no man should stand idle. Let’s not remain in our homes “sheltering in place”, lets stop letting the world voices infect us. I pray when you go into that polling booth that you will see 65 million baby faces staring back at you saying, “why do you stand here so idle?”. The blood of Abel is upon our hands and it cries out from the ground.
