“Providence”

Gen 45:5 “Now therefore be not grieved nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither; for God did send me before you to preserve life.”

Providence isn’t a common word in the 21st century. Man doesn’t like to think or discuss that God is actually working and overseeing this planet earth. One of the definitions of providence is “Gods continued care for his creation and his people”. Joseph was able to show his brothers after being sold by them and spending time in prison that God went before them to preserve life. Providence is seen in Ezekiel 1:15-19; “When I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its four faces. The workmanship of the wheels looked like the gleam of beryl, and all four had the same likeness. Their workmanship looked like a wheel within a wheel. When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went.”

Sometimes the wheel is at the top and sometimes it turns down to the bottom. Our state is ever changing but the axle itself remains steadfast. The wheel has four faces and therefore sees north south east and west-meaning our God overseers all that goes on “with us grasshoppers”. I love that God overrules people’s evil actions in order to accomplish his purpose! (Fire Bible) That my friend is huge. Whatever you think the “big brother” is doing God Will OVERRULE IT TO ACCOMPLISH HIS PURPOSE!

Since Adam and Eve walked in the garden the providence or our Lord has preserved mankind. Psalm 38:8 says, “The Lord will accomplish what concerns me”. The Lord also will bring provision to your storehouse. Gen. 8:22 “While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease”. God rules the world! Man cannot manage it! Daniel 2:21 says, “He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.” Your job is to seek first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added.

While we live in the land of Goshen we have to continue to honor God as long as we have our breath. Honor him in our tithes and offerings, honor him in our day to day living, honor him by not forsaking the assembly of the brethren. The wheel of the many eyes are upon us to lead us along the Gospel highway. John 13:7 says, “What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shall know thereafter”!

“God moves in a mysterious way, His wonders to perform;

He plants His footsteps in the sea and rides upon the storm.

Deep in unfathomable mines of never failing skill;

He treasures up his bright designs, and works his HIs sovereign will.

Ye fearful saints fresh courage take; the clouds ye so much dread are big with mercy,

and shall break in blessings on your head.

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, but trust him for his grace;

Behind a frowning providence, he hides a smiling face.

His purpose will ripen fast, unfolding every hour;

the bud may have a bitter taste, but sweet will be the flower.

Blind unbelief is sure to err, and scan his work in vain;

God is his own interpreter, and he will make it plain.”

William Cowper 1773
