“Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” Gen. 15:5

“Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as he had been told, “So shall your offspring be.” Romans 4:18

McClaren says, “He that loves and trusts God possesses God. He that possesses God has enough for earth. He that possesses God has enough for heaven.” We must always look through the lens of God’s prophetic eye. The natural voices will never give us answers. God knows sometimes we just need to get some fresh air. When things get too stuffy inside, our Heavenly Father puts on a show outside right above us. When the night shadows try to overtake us the stars and the constellations always speak a future and a hope. Abraham and I have something in common. We both have seen the same stars overhead and we both have counted them and our faith was enlarged! My beliefs are hung up there on the same stars Abraham flung his faith on. Abraham became a wanderer who left his country on a quest for the heavenly one. God becomes enough in the absence of other joys. Abraham was capsulated by the firmament studded with gems! The same possession Abraham grabbed hold of is available to all. The reward is God. The Stars absorb our doubts and turn them into gems. They, after all, radiate from the SON! WOW!

“He who made the Pleiades and Orion, who turns darkness into dawn and darkens day into night, who summons the waters of the sea and pours them over the face of the earth–the LORD is His name.” Amos 5:8

Mcclaren says, “As he gazes up into the solemn depths, the immensity and peace of the steadfast sky seems to help him to rise above the narrow limits and changefulness of earth, and a great trust floods his soul. Abram ‘believed in the Lord; and He counted it to him for righteousness.” I am wondering if Abraham saw a shooting star, or Orion’s belt or the Pleiades? Did Venus the morning star greet him in the morning? Whatever he saw, he arose from his doubt and received the manna he needed. One little boy was born and they laughed! Abraham looked through the prophetic portal and saw into the future of an unbelievable inheritance. Feel boxed in? Everywhere you turn you find confinement and restriction? The stars are singing a different song all together. Go outside, lay prostrate and spend some serious time gazing into another world. It’s a world of order, constancy and God’s dream for us all.
