“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19

In Isaiah, the prophet foresaw a time of great difficulty for the Israelites. A time when they would be captive to their enemies. As Israel’s journey continued, their God ordained path became more difficult and culminated in a good old fashioned dead end, with the sea in front of them and the armies of Egypt behind them. With no way back and no way forward God does what God does best. He makes a way where there seems to be no way.

That is how I know Him personally in my life… THE WAY MAKER!

I have watched Him take hopeless situations in my life and turn them around and make something beautiful out of them. I have seen Him kick open doors that were nailed shut. I have felt Him breathe life back into things I thought were dead and watched them thrive. I have heard Him speak one word and the mountains crumble. There are so many things in life I do not know, but this one thing I am certain about, God is THE WAY MAKER. He makes the impossible possible.

Charles Spurgeon wrote, “The Lord will make a way for you where no foot has gone before. That which, like a sea, threatens to drown you will be a highway for your escape.”

The waters may be rising around you, and the flames may be getting hotter. Trust one thing: God will make a way for you. He promised He would be with you and you would see the salvation of the Lord in the land of the living.
