Koinonia

Jenny Massey

The Greek word koinonia means to “participate as a partner, to partake of, to be a companion with, to have fellowship with the divine nature.”

I was led to God’s generous grace in (2Peter 1:3-4) which says, “Everything we could ever need for life and godliness has already been deposited in us by his divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing him who called us by his name and invited us to come to him through a glorious manifestation of his goodness. As a result of this, he has given you magnificent promises that are beyond all price, so that through the power of these tremendous promises we can experience partnership with the divine nature, by which you have escaped the corrupt desires that are of the world.”

The thing I have been meditating on is my union with Christ. It’s intimate, interactive, and transformative. The reality that God is for me, that he is in me, and all around me as well as constantly guides me into all truth. God is changing me from the inside out so that I ultimately reflect his image is incredible! I recognize that all the power I will ever need to live this life in Godliness is already deposited by him inside me. He called me by name out of darkness and joined himself to me. My very nature is now his nature! His promises are my promises!
