GOD’S DELECTABLE GARDEN

“I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved. ” Song of Solomon 5:1
The word delectable means: agreeable, blessed, congenial, pleasant, delicious, darling, delightsome, dreamy, dulcet, enjoyable, felicitous, good, grateful, gratifying, jolly, heavenly, nice, luscious, palatable, pleasing, pretty, satisfying, savory, sweet, tasty,and welcome.
He beckons to come into our gardens so to speak and partake of us. The question is how do we respond to His invitation?
He waits to be gracious to us! He wants to daily load us with His benefits! Isn’t it good to know that He preserves our going out and coming in and He relieves us in due season. He even gives His angels a daily charge to attend to us. This life of communion becomes heaven on earth. How wonderful it is to acquaint ourselves with Him and to walk with him. There is so much to behold of His beauty and this is where we can be satisfied. “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me to dwell in safety.” Ps. 4:8 Also In Ps. 62: 5 it says, “My soul, wait thou only upon God and continue to do so, for my expectation is from him”. The word expectation means to “twist, as in a cord”. He gives us new mercy everyday, new grace and fresh promises to stand on. I want to make the will of His precept the rule of our heart. Whether in days of prosperity in days of poverty or whether in my youth or older years we can join Job 23:10 when he says, “He knows the way that I take, and when he has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” In this garden we cast our burdens on The Lord committing our way unto Him. We learn to arrange our daily affairs with an eye to his will. “Whatever we do in word or deed, do all in the name of Jesus.” Col. 3:1 Jonah even found God in a difficult situation: “And I said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.” (Jonah 2:2) A commentary said concerning this verse that, “In all places we may find a way open heavenward.” Yes, something supernatural happens when He steps into my garden. He causes the wind to blow upon my life and He decides what fruit is to ripen. I am so glad He has my life in his control and I can experience his luscious, palatable, pleasing and so very savory presence! We can live in God’s delectable garden every day, every minute!
Not only does He want to come into our lives but we read in the above scripture that once He has gained entrance, He invites his friends to partake also of our garden. Open up the gates and let the King of Glory in! Whoo Hoo! Are you ready for the party?
