MERRY MONDAY BY PARRIS BAILEY-

“Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.” Matt. 22:3

Ahhhh! The marriage of the Lamb and His church! What a day that will be! But to some the earth remains as one big chaotic twist and turn with no divine order. A Facebook quote of a random yoga teacher said she was a CPA in a past life. I join with David in Psalms where he says “I would have lost hope unless I had seen the goodness of God in the land of the living”. I also join with the great company of believers in the book of Hebrews. What are they chanting? I am glad you asked- certainly not defeat, sorrow and disappointment. It is a victory shout that has been sounding since time began. Why even the angels couldn’t keep silent looking at the birth of our Lord. What are you fixing your gaze on today?
Edwards, when talking of the believer in heaven says, “Thus they shall eat and drink abundantly, and swim in the ocean of love, and be eternally swallowed up in the infinitely bright, and infinitely mild and sweet beams of divine love; eternally receiving that light, eternally full of it, and eternally compassed round with it, and everlastingly reflecting it back again to the fountain of it. Now the saints, while in the body, see something of Christ’s glory and love; as we, in the dawning of the morning, see something of the reflected light of the sun mingled with darkness; but when separated from the body, they see their glorious and loving Redeemer, as we see the sun when risen, and showing his whole disk above the horizon, by his direct beams, in a clear hemisphere, and with perfect day.”
Edwards goes on to say, the believers in heaven are at a greater advantage because: “they take pleasure in beholding the progress of the work on earth; as they are under greater advantages to see and understand the marvelous steps that Divine Wisdom takes in all that is done, and the glorious ends he obtains, the opposition Satan makes, and how he is baffled and overthrown. They can better see the connection of one event with another, and the beautiful order of all things that come to pass in the church in different ages that to us appear like confusion. Nor do they only view these things, and rejoice in them, as a glorious and beautiful sight, but as persons interested, as Christ is interested; as possessing these things in Christ, and reigning with him, in this kingdom.”
Do you know that we will reign with Christ? That though we see through a glass darkly we will see Him face to face? Yes, there is a divine order my friends and it isn’t the stock market or the latest guru, president, or belief system. There is nothing like resting in His arms.
